Today I wantto add something to yamas&nbsp;and niyamas&nbsp;which we discussed last time.<br><br>\u5927\u5bb6\u597d\uff0c\u4eca\u5929\u6211\u4eec\u5230\u7b2c\u4e94\u8bb2\u4e86\uff0c\u6211\u8fd8\u60f3\u5728\u4eca\u5929\u5c31\u4e0a\u6b21\u8ba8\u8bba\u7684yamas\u548cniyamas\u505a\u4e00\u4e9b\u8865\u5145\u3002<br><br>The moral-ethical principles come to work while we are in social reference and therefore as I said&nbsp;yoga&nbsp;is not having any social reference, you\u2019re totally&nbsp;internal-ised,&nbsp;personal-ised&nbsp;inwardly; then,&nbsp;where&nbsp;is the field&nbsp;for practicing&nbsp;morality-ethicality&nbsp;which is something on the plane of behavior? That\u2019s a face-value of a person if we speak to, refer to morality-ethicality,&nbsp;that is the face-value for a person; we really don\u2019t need face-value while&nbsp;we are in spiritual practices, adhyatmik&nbsp;practices, yogic practices.<br><br>\u9053\u5fb7-\u4f26\u7406\u51c6\u5219\uff0c\u662f\u6211\u4eec\u6307\u4ee3\u793e\u4f1a\u65f6\u624d\u4f1a\u53d1\u6325\u4f5c\u7528\uff0c\u6b63\u5982\u6211\u8bf4\u8fc7\u7684\u2014\u2014\u745c\u4f3d\u5e76\u6ca1\u6709\u6307\uff08\u5916\u5728\uff09\u793e\u4f1a\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u4f60\uff08\u5728\u745c\u4f3d\u91cc\uff09\u5411\u5185\u5730\u5168\u7136\u5185\u5316\u3001\u4e2a\u6027\u5316\uff1b\u7136\u540e\uff0c\u8981\u5728\u54ea\u91cc\u53bb\u9075\u5faa\u6211\u4eec\u8a00\u884c\u4e3e\u6b62\u5c42\u9762\u4e0a\u7684\u90a3\u4e2a\u201c\u9053\u5fb7-\u4f26\u7406\u201d\u51c6\u5219\uff1f\u4f46\u51e1\u6211\u4eec\u63d0\u5230\u3001\u6307\u5411\u201c\u9053\u5fb7-\u4f26\u7406\u201d\uff0c\u90a3\u5176\u5b9e\u662f\u4eba\u7684\u201c\u9762\u503c\u201d\uff0c\u90a3\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u4eba\u7684\u201c\u8138\u9762\u201d\uff1b\u800c\u5f53\u6211\u4eec\u5904\u4e8e\u7cbe\u795e\u4fee\u884c\u3001\u7075\u6027\u4fee\u884c\u3001\u745c\u4f3d\u4fee\u884c\u65f6\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u771f\u7684\u4e0d\u9700\u8981\u90a3\u4e2a\u201c\u8138\u9762\u201d\u3002<br><br>Then the other point is: usually we all claim that we are morally-ethically strongcompared&nbsp;to someone else, so we have this&nbsp;relativity&nbsp;concept in morality-ethicality. With regards&nbsp;to others, we are critical and we tend to assess them in their morality and ethicality while we&nbsp;deem ourselves&nbsp;that we are morally-ethically strong.<br><br>\u53e6\u4e00\u70b9\u662f\uff1a\u6211\u4eec\u901a\u5e38\u4f1a\u58f0\u79f0\uff0c\u5728\u9053\u5fb7-\u4f26\u7406\u89c2\u4e0a\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u6bd4\u5176\u4ed6\u4eba\u5f3a\uff0c\u56e0\u6b64\u6211\u4eec\u5c31\u6709\u4e86\u9053\u5fb7-\u4f26\u7406\u4e0a\u7684\u8fd9\u79cd\u76f8\u5bf9\u6982\u5ff5\u3002\u8bf4\u5230\u522b\u4eba\u65f6\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u4f1a\u5728\u4ed6\u4eec\u7684\u9053\u5fb7-\u4f26\u7406\u4e0a\u5f88\u6311\u5254\u3001\u6211\u4eec\u4f1a\u8d8b\u5411\u4e8e\u8bc4\u5224\u4ed6\u4eec\uff1b\u800c\u6211\u4eec\u5374\u81ea\u8be9\u5728\u9053\u5fb7-\u4f26\u7406\u65b9\u9762\u5f88\u5f3a\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-small-font-size\"><strong><span style=\"color: var(--theme-palette-color-8, #ffffff);background-color: #f34957\" class=\"stk-highlight\">\u201c\u666e\u5c1a\u5409\u8bed\u201d\u53d1\u5e03<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The morality and ethicality mean aspects. One more thingto understand here is that if&nbsp;you&nbsp;are not committing himsa, that dose not&nbsp;mean that you are in ahimsa; if you are not indulging&nbsp;in asatya, it&nbsp;doesn\u2019t mean that you are in satya.<br><br>\u9053\u5fb7-\u4f26\u7406\u610f\u5473\u7740\u6709\u5404\u79cd\u65b9\u9762\uff0c\u5728\u6b64\u8981\u7406\u89e3\u7684\u53e6\u5916\u4e00\u70b9\u662f\uff1a\u5982\u679c\u4f60\u6ca1\u6709\u72af\u4e0b\u66b4\u529b\u4e4b\u7f6a\uff0c\u90a3\u5e76\u4e0d\u610f\u5473\u7740\u4f60\u5c31\u5728\u201c\u975e\u66b4\u529b\u201d\u51c6\u5219\u5f53\u4e2d\uff1b\u5982\u679c\u4f60\u6ca1\u6709\u5728&nbsp;\u201c\u4e0d\u8bda\u5b9e\u201d\u5f53\u4e2d\u6c89\u8ff7\uff0c\u90a3\u5e76\u4e0d\u610f\u5473\u7740\u4f60\u5c31\u5904\u4e8e\u201c\u8bda\u5b9e\u201d&nbsp;\u7684\u51c6\u5219\u5f53\u4e2d\u3002<br><br>Like if somebody is not a bad person, it doesn\u2019t mean he is a good person; or if somebody is not a good person, that doesn\u2019t mean he is a bad person. A good person must be a good person, a good person will be a good person and bad person will be a bad person. Not being bad is not being good, not being good is not being bad.<br><br>\u5c31\u597d\u50cf\uff0c\u67d0\u4eba\u4e0d\u662f\u574f\u4eba\uff0c\u90a3\u5e76\u4e0d\u610f\u5473\u7740\u4ed6\u5c31\u662f\u4e2a\u597d\u4eba\uff1b\u6216\u8005\u8bf4\uff0c\u67d0\u4eba\u4e0d\u662f\u4e2a\u597d\u4eba\uff0c\u90a3\u5e76\u4e0d\u610f\u5473\u7740\u4ed6\u5c31\u662f\u4e2a\u574f\u4eba\u3002\u597d\u4eba\u5fc5\u5b9a\u662f\u597d\u4eba\uff0c\u597d\u4eba\u7ec8\u5c06\u662f\u597d\u4eba\uff0c\u574f\u4eba\u7ec8\u5c06\u662f\u574f\u4eba\uff0c\u4e0d\u574f\u5e76\u975e\u597d\uff0c\u4e0d\u597d\u5e76\u975e\u574f\u3002<br><br>So not being un-ethical, there\u2019sno ground to claim&nbsp;that you are ethical; not being immoral, there\u2019s no ground for you to claim that you are moral, that you are in morality. Morality is morality, ethicality is ethicality; un-ethicality is unethicality, not in un-ethicality doesn\u2019t&nbsp;mean that you are ethical; not being immoral, it&nbsp;doesn\u2019t mean that you are moral.<br><br>\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u6ca1\u6709\u8fdd\u53cd\u4f26\u7406\uff0c\u5e76\u6ca1\u6709\u57fa\u7840\u53bb\u5ba3\u79f0\u4f60\u5c31\u9075\u5faa\u4e86\u4f26\u7406\uff1b\u6ca1\u6709\u4e0d\u9053\u5fb7\uff0c\u4e5f\u6ca1\u6709\u57fa\u7840\u5ba3\u79f0\u4f60\u5c31\u662f\u9053\u5fb7\u7684\u3001\u4f60\u5904\u4e8e\u9053\u5fb7\u4e4b\u4e2d\u3002\u9053\u5fb7\u5c31\u662f\u9053\u5fb7\uff0c\u4f26\u7406\u5c31\u662f\u4f26\u7406\uff0c\u4e0d\u7b26\u5408\u4f26\u7406\u5c31\u662f\u4e0d\u7b26\u5408\u4f26\u7406\uff0c\u6ca1\u6709\u8fdd\u80cc\u4f26\u7406\u5e76\u4e0d\u4ee3\u8868\u4f60\u5c31\u7b26\u5408\u4e86\u4f26\u7406\uff1b\u6ca1\u6709\u4e0d\u9053\u5fb7\uff0c\u5e76\u4e0d\u4ee3\u8868\u4f60\u5c31\u662f\u9053\u5fb7\u7684\u3002<br><br>Like somebodynot ugly doesn\u2019t mean the&nbsp;person is handsome&nbsp;or beautiful; somebody&nbsp;not beautiful, doesn\u2019t mean the person is ugly. So with reference&nbsp;to this moral-ethical&nbsp;principles, we&nbsp;would&nbsp;have to understand this one more perspective there, dimension there.<br><br>\u5c31\u50cf\u67d0\u4eba\u4e0d\u4e11\uff0c\u5e76\u4e0d\u610f\u5473\u7740\u8fd9\u4e2a\u4eba\u82f1\u4fca\u6216\u6f02\u4eae\uff1b\u67d0\u4eba\u4e0d\u6f02\u4eae\uff0c\u5e76\u4e0d\u610f\u5473\u7740\u8fd9\u4e2a\u4eba\u5c31\u4e11\u3002\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u5728\u63d0\u5230\u9053\u5fb7-\u4f26\u7406\u51c6\u5219\u65f6\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u8981\u641e\u61c2\u90a3\u91cc\u9762\u5b58\u5728\u7684\u8fd9\u4e2a\u89c6\u89d2\u548c\u7ef4\u5ea6\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-small-font-size\"><strong><span style=\"color: var(--theme-palette-color-8, #ffffff);background-color: #f34957\" class=\"stk-highlight\">\u201c\u666e\u5c1a\u5409\u8bed\u201d\u53d1\u5e03<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now,if we claim that we are practicing ahimsa, satya, asteya, somebody might be a good person and therefore&nbsp;we say he\u2019s in ahimsa, he\u2019s in satya, he doesn\u2019t take recourse to asatya, doesn\u2019t take recourse to himsa, doesn\u2019t take recourse to antagonizers; but one more point to reinforce the earlier statement that Patanjali&nbsp;is not dealing with moral-ethical&nbsp;principles but ethico-religious principles. Why is it?<br><br>\u73b0\u5728\uff0c\u5047\u5982\u6211\u4eec\u58f0\u79f0\u6211\u4eec\u9075\u5faa\u4e86&nbsp;\u201c\u975e\u66b4\u529b\u201d\u3001\u201c\u8bda\u5b9e\u201d\u3001\u201c\u4e0d\u5077\u76d7\u201d\u7b49\u51c6\u5219\uff0c\u67d0\u4eba\u53ef\u80fd\u662f\u4e2a\u597d\u4eba\uff0c\u56e0\u6b64\u6211\u4eec\u8bf4\u4ed6\u9075\u5faa\u4e86\u201c\u975e\u66b4\u529b\u201d\u51c6\u5219\uff0c\u4ed6\u9075\u5faa\u4e86\u201c\u8bda\u5b9e\u201d\u51c6\u5219\uff0c\u4ed6\u6ca1\u6709\u8bc9\u8bf8\u4e8e\u201c\u5077\u76d7\u201d&nbsp;\u3001\u6ca1\u6709\u8bc9\u8bf8\u4e8e\u201c\u66b4\u529b\u201d\u3001\u6ca1\u6709\u8bc9\u8bf8\u4e8e\u6210\u4e3a\u654c\u5bf9\u65b9\uff1b\u4f46\u8fd8\u6709\u4e00\u70b9\uff0c\u9700\u8981\u53bb\u5f3a\u8c03\u6211\u524d\u9762\u90a3\u5802\u8bfe\u7a0b\u7684\u58f0\u660e\uff0c\u5373\u5e15\u5766\u4f3d\u5229\u5e76\u6ca1\u6709\u8bba\u53ca\u9053\u5fb7-\u4f26\u7406\u51c6\u5219\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u201c\u9053\u5fb7-\u5b97\u6559\u51c6\u5219\u201d\uff0c\u4e3a\u4ec0\u4e48\uff1f<br><br>Suppose we are practicing ahimsa, if we think we\u2019re in ahimsa, and we&nbsp;don\u2019t&nbsp;indulge&nbsp;in himsa, we are not, definitely not in a vow of ahimsa. If somebody is a good person, the person has not taken a vow to be good, a person is merely good; if a person is a noble person, the person is noble because he is noble, it\u2019s not that&nbsp;the person has taken vow of nobility; whereas Patanjali immediately embarks upon the topic of vratas or vows, either atomic vows or great vows. That is why that in dharma, in his 5 principles or 10 principles, yamas&nbsp;and niyamas, that\u2019s something like vows.<br><br>\u5047\u5982\u6211\u4eec\u9075\u5b88\u4e86\u201c\u975e\u66b4\u529b\u201d&nbsp;\u51c6\u5219\uff0c\u5047\u5982\u6211\u4eec\u8ba4\u4e3a\u6211\u4eec\u5904\u4e8e\u201c\u975e\u66b4\u529b\u201d\u5f53\u4e2d\u3001\u6211\u4eec\u6ca1\u6709\u6c89\u6d78\u5728\u201c\u66b4\u529b\u201d\u5f53\u4e2d\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u5374\u6ca1\u6709\u3001\u786e\u5b9a\u6ca1\u6709\u5904\u4e8e\u201c\u975e\u66b4\u529b\u201d\u7684\u8a93\u8a00\u5f53\u4e2d\u3002\u5982\u679c\u67d0\u4eba\u662f\u4e2a\u597d\u4eba\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e2a\u4eba\u5c31\u65e0\u9700\u53d1\u4e2a\u8a93\u53bb\u505a\u597d\u4eba\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e2a\u4eba\u672c\u5c31\u662f\u597d\u4eba\uff1b\u5982\u679c\u4e00\u4e2a\u4eba\u662f\u9ad8\u5c1a\u7684\u4eba\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e2a\u4eba\u5f88\u9ad8\u5c1a\uff0c\u90a3\u662f\u56e0\u4e3a\u4ed6\u672c\u5c31\u9ad8\u5c1a\uff0c\u800c\u4e0d\u662f\u8fd9\u4e2a\u4eba\u8bb8\u4e0b\u4e86\u9ad8\u5c1a\u6027\u7684\u8a93\u8a00\u3002\u5e15\u5766\u4f3d\u5229\u76f4\u63a5\u5c31\u70b9\u5230\u4e86&nbsp;\u201c\u8a93\u201d \u8fd9\u4e2a\u8bdd\u9898\uff0c\u8981\u4e48\u662f\u5c0f\u8a93\u3001\u8981\u4e48\u662f\u5927\u8a93\u3002\u90a3\u5c31\u662f\u4e3a\u4f55\u5728dharma\u4e2d\uff0c\u5728\u4ed6\u7684yamas\u548cniyamas\u7684\u4e94\u6761\u6216\u5341\u6761\u51c6\u5219\u4e2d\uff0c\u90a3\u5c31\u50cf\u662f&nbsp;\u201c\u8a93\u201d\u3002<br><br>It is not just practicing satya, practicing&nbsp;ahimsa, practicing&nbsp;brahmarcharya, practicing asteya, practicing shauca, practicing santosha, tapas, etc., it\u2019s not just practice; if you are practicing, that is not sufficient and that is not what Patanjali&nbsp;has&nbsp;mentioned.&nbsp;He expects&nbsp;that&nbsp;to be of vrata;&nbsp;vrata means vow, that is how it is rendered into English which doesn\u2019t have proper connotation, filtering out&nbsp;to lack-age&nbsp;of English.<br><br>\u90a3\u4e0d\u4ec5\u662f\u5728\u9075\u5faa\u201c\u8bda\u5b9e\u201d\u51c6\u5219\u3001\u9075\u5faayama\u7684\u201c\u975e\u66b4\u529b\u201d\u51c6\u5219\u3001\u9075\u5faa\u201c\u8282\u5236\u201d\u51c6\u5219\u3001\u9075\u5faa&nbsp;\u201c\u4e0d\u5077\u76d7\u201d\u51c6\u5219\u3001\u9075\u5faa&nbsp;\u201c\u51c0\u5316\u201d\u3001\u9075\u5faanayama\u7684&nbsp;\u201c\u6ee1\u8db3\u201d\u3001\u201c\u82e6\u4fee\u201d \u7b49\u51c6\u5219\uff0c\u90a3\u4e0d\u4ec5\u4ec5\u662f\u5728\u9075\u5faa\u5b83\u4eec\uff1b\u5982\u679c\u4f60\u5728\u9075\u5faa\u5b83\u4eec\uff0c\u90a3\u8fd8\u4e0d\u591f\uff0c\u8fd8\u4e0d\u662f\u5e15\u5766\u4f3d\u5229\u6240\u8bba\u53ca\u7684\u4e1c\u897f\uff0c\u4ed6\u8981\u7684\u662f\u5c5e\u4e8e\u201c\u8a93\u201d\u7684\u4e1c\u897f\uff0c\u5373vrata\uff1b\u2018vrata\u2019 \u7684\u610f\u601d\u662f\u201c\u8a93\u201d\uff0c\u90a3\u5728\u82f1\u8bed\u91cc\u88ab\u8bd1\u6210\u4e86\u201c\u8a93\u201d\uff0c\u4f46\u90a3\u5e76\u6ca1\u6709\u8bf4\u660e\u5b83\u7684\u6b63\u786e\u542b\u4e49\uff0c\u56e0\u4e3a\u82f1\u8bed\u7684\u532e\u4e4f\u3002<br><br>Vrata is a unique concept in the sanatana dharma&nbsp;. Vratas have a greater prowess&nbsp;and power. Vrata have a cultural ambience, cultural sublimity whereby one is able to be in a vrata, because vratas are&nbsp;dharmic practices.&nbsp;So why it&nbsp;is&nbsp;achar-niti-dharma? Because Patanjali immediately embarks upon vrata&nbsp;and vrata only comes in dharma. Vrata&nbsp;doesn\u2019t come in morality-ethicality.<br><br>\u201c\u8a93\u201d\uff0c\u5728\u4fee\u884cdharma\u4e2d\uff0c\u662f\u4e2a\u72ec\u7279\u7684\u6982\u5ff5\uff0c\u201c\u8a93\u201d\u62e5\u6709\u66f4\u5927\u7684\u80fd\u529b\u548c\u529b\u91cf\uff0c\u201c\u8a93\u201d\u62e5\u6709\u6587\u5316\u610f\u4e49\u4e0a\u7684\u6c1b\u56f4\u3001\u6587\u5316\u610f\u4e49\u4e0a\u7684\u7eaf\u51c0\uff0c\u901a\u8fc7\u7f6e\u8eab\u4e8e\u5176\u95f4\uff0c\u4eba\u5c31\u80fd\u591f\u5904\u4e8e\u201c\u8a93\u201d\u5f53\u4e2d\uff0c\u56e0\u4e3a\u201c\u8a93\u201d\u662f\u5bf9\u81ea\u5df1\u8d23\u4efb\/\u4f7f\u547d\u7684\u9075\u5faa\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\uff0c\u4e3a\u4f55\u8bf4yamas\u548cniyamas\u662f\u201c\u884c\u4e3a\u51c6\u5219-\u9053\u5fb7\u610f\u8bc6-\u8d23\u4efb\u610f\u8bc6\u201d\uff0c\u6b63\u662f\u56e0\u4e3a\u5e15\u5766\u4f3d\u5229\u76f4\u622a\u4e86\u5f53\u5f00\u59cb\u8bb2\u5230\u201c\u8a93\u201d\uff0c\u800c\u201c\u8a93\u201d\u53ea\u5728dharma\u91cc\u624d\u4f1a\u6709\uff0c\u201c\u8a93\u201d\u5e76\u6ca1\u6709\u8fdb\u5165\u9053\u5fb7-\u4f26\u7406\u5f53\u4e2d\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-small-font-size\"><strong><span style=\"color: var(--theme-palette-color-8, #ffffff);background-color: #f34957\" class=\"stk-highlight\">\u201c\u666e\u5c1a\u5409\u8bed\u201d\u53d1\u5e03<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The moral people\/ethical people are not necessarily in the vrata, they need to&nbsp;take and make it a vrata. Those&nbsp;observances must be coming&nbsp;within the frame&nbsp;work&nbsp;of vrata. That is what is&nbsp;expected.<br><br>\u90a3\u4e9b\u9075\u5faa\u9053\u5fb7-\u4f26\u7406\u4e4b\u4eba\uff0c\u672a\u5fc5\u5904\u4e8e\u201c\u8a93\u201d\u5f53\u4e2d\uff0c\u4ed6\u4eec\u9700\u8981\u53d1\u4e2a\u8a93\u3001\u8ba9\u5b83\u6210\u4e3a\u4e00\u4e2a\u8a93\uff1b\u5bf9\uff08\u8a93\uff09\u7684\u9075\u5faa\uff0c\u4e00\u5b9a\u8981\u8fdb\u5230\u201c\u8a93\u201d\u7684\u6846\u67b6\u4e2d\u53bb\uff0c\u90a3\u4e5f\u662f\u4ece\u201c\u8a93\u201d\u4e2d\u88ab\u671f\u8bb8\u7684\u4e1c\u897f\u3002<br><br>So that\u2019s why Patanjali mentions vratas&nbsp;immediately in the topic of yamas,&nbsp;niyamas, either this is anu&nbsp;vrata or maha&nbsp;vrata. We should be going by anu&nbsp;vrata, not&nbsp;try to venture&nbsp;into maha&nbsp;vrata. We must&nbsp;be taking&nbsp;atomic vows and those can be certainly practiced. Atomic vows can be practiced, great vows cannot be practiced. So that\u2019s why he&nbsp;has&nbsp;suggested vows in the topic of yamas&nbsp;and niyamas, therefore there\u2019s some dharma-aspect, dharmic aspect&nbsp;because outside dharma we don\u2019t have to take vratas.<br><br>\u90a3\u5c31\u662f\u4e3a\u4f55\u5e15\u5766\u4f3d\u5229\u5728yamas\u548cniyamas\u7684\u8fd9\u4e2a\u8bdd\u9898\u91cc\uff0c\u76f4\u63a5\u5c31\u8c08\u5230\u4e86\u201c\u8a93\u201d\uff0c\u8981\u4e48\u662f\u5c0f\u8a93\uff0c\u8981\u4e48\u662f\u5927\u8a93\u3002\u6211\u4eec\u5e94\u8be5\u4ece\u5c0f\u8a93\u5165\u624b\uff0c\u4e0d\u8981\u5c1d\u8bd5\u5192\u7136\u7acb\u5927\u8a93\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u4e00\u5b9a\u8981\u5148\u7acb\u5c0f\u8a93\uff0c\u90a3\u4e9b\u8a93\u624d\u80fd\u786e\u4fdd\u5f97\u5230\u9075\u5b88\uff0c\u5c0f\u8a93\u53ef\u4ee5\u9075\u5b88\uff0c\u5927\u8a93\u65e0\u6cd5\u9075\u5b88\u3002\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u90a3\u5c31\u662f\u4e3a\u4f55\u5e15\u5766\u4f3d\u5229\u5728\u8bba\u53cayamas\u548cniyamas\u8fd9\u4e2a\u8bdd\u9898\u65f6\uff0c\u9a6c\u4e0a\u5c31\u63d0\u5230\u4e86\u201c\u8a93\u201d\uff0c\u4ece\u800c\u8ba9\u5b83\u5177\u6709\u4e86\u4e00\u4e9bdharma\u7684\u5c42\u9762\uff0c\u56e0\u4e3a\u5728dharma\u4e4b\u5916\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u4e0d\u5fc5\u7acb\u8a93\u3002<br><br>Again,let me tell you, vrata doesn\u2019t have an English word, there&nbsp;are only vows.&nbsp;Vows are taken out of resoluteness; vrata&nbsp;is taken out of some dharmic-practices.&nbsp;That&nbsp;is&nbsp;why these are&nbsp;achar-niti-dharma practices aspects and that\u2019s why they are not moral-ethical practices.<br><br>\u8ba9\u6211\u518d\u6b21\u63d0\u9192\u4f60\u4eec\uff0cvrata\u6ca1\u6709\u82f1\u8bed\u91cc\u53ef\u4ee5\u4e0e\u4e4b\u5bf9\u5e94\u7684\u8bcd\u6c47\uff0c\u9664\u4e86\u201c\u8a93\u201d\u8fd9\u4e2a\u8bd1\u6cd5\u3002\u201c\u8a93\u201d\uff0c\u4e00\u822c\u51fa\u4e8e\u51b3\u5fc3\uff0c\u4f46\u68b5\u6587\u7684vrata\u5219\u662f\u4ecedharma\u7684\u9075\u5faa\u51fa\u53d1\uff0c\u90a3\u5c31\u662f\u4e3a\u4f55yamas\u548cniyamas\u662f\u201c\u884c\u4e3a\u51c6\u5219-\u9053\u5fb7\u610f\u8bc6-\u8d23\u4efb\u610f\u8bc6\u201d\u7684\u5c42\u9762\uff0c\u90a3\u5c31\u662f\u4e3a\u4f55\u5b83\u4eec\u4e0d\u662f\u9053\u5fb7-\u4f26\u7406\u7684\u4fee\u4e3a\u3002<br><br>So even in 28th sutra of Astanga&nbsp;Yoga, he says&nbsp;Yoganganusthanat anusthanam. Anusthanais&nbsp;again&nbsp;a&nbsp;word which cannot be rendered into English. Many of them have rendered it as&nbsp;reverential&nbsp;practice. That doesn\u2019t carry the connotation&nbsp;proper.<br><br>\u751a\u81f3\u5728\u516b\u652f\u745c\u4f3d\u7ecf\u6587\uff08\u5373\u300a\u745c\u4f3d\u7ecf\u300b\uff09\u7684\u7b2c\u4e8c\u5341\u516b\u8282\u4e2d\uff0c\u5e15\u5766\u4f3d\u5229\u8fd8\u63d0\u5230\uff1a&nbsp;\u201c\u745c\u4f3d\u662f\u4fee\u884c\u7684\u4e00\u652f\u201d\u3002&nbsp;anusthana\u5728\u82f1\u8bed\u91cc\u4e5f\u6ca1\u6709\u4e0e\u4e4b\u5bf9\u5e94\u7684\u91ca\u4e49\uff0c\u4ed6\u4eec\u8bb8\u591a\u4eba\u90fd\u5c06\u5b83\u8bf4\u6210\u201c\u8654\u8bda\u7684\u4fee\u884c\u201d\uff0c\u4f46\u90a3\u5e76\u6ca1\u6709\u5305\u542b\u5b83\u6070\u5f53\u7684\u91ca\u4e49\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-small-font-size\"><strong><span style=\"color: var(--theme-palette-color-8, #ffffff);background-color: #f34957\" class=\"stk-highlight\">\u201c\u666e\u5c1a\u5409\u8bed\u201d\u53d1\u5e03<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anusthana comes only in karma,&nbsp;there\u2019s karma-anusthana, there\u2019s&nbsp;jnana-anusthana, there\u2019s mantra-anusthana and there\u2019s yoganganusthana.&nbsp;Today we are not aware of yoganganusthana, we are aware of only yoga-practices.<br><br>\u8fd9\u4e2a\u8bcd\u7684\u610f\u4e49\u53ea\u5728karma\u4e2d\u624d\u4f1a\u6709\uff0c\u5373\u884c\u4e3a\u4fee\u884c\u3001\u8ba4\u77e5\u4fee\u884c\u3001\u66fc\u9640\u7f57\u5531\u8bf5\u4fee\u884c\uff0c\u8fd8\u6709\u745c\u4f3d\u4fee\u884c\uff1b\u800c\u4eca\u65f6\u4eca\u65e5\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u5e76\u6ca1\u6709\u610f\u8bc6\u5230\u201c\u745c\u4f3d-\u4fee\u884c\u201d\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u53ea\u5173\u6ce8\u201c\u745c\u4f3d-\u4e60\u7ec3\u201d\u3002<br><br>We think&nbsp;this is something to be practiced and&nbsp;we&nbsp;don\u2019t give any frame&nbsp;work of&nbsp;anusthana;&nbsp;whereas&nbsp;Patanjali in his text speaks&nbsp;of&nbsp;anusthanat&nbsp;when it comes to&nbsp;Astanga&nbsp;Yoga, yoganganusthanat. He doesn\u2019t say yoganga-praticasat,&nbsp;he doesn\u2019t say yoganga-sadhanat.&nbsp;So, these are all earlier stages\/steps we have to take. Before going for&nbsp;anusthana, we have to go through&nbsp;other preparatories, other stages such as practices, sadhanas, disciplines, etc, etc.&nbsp;<br><br>\u6211\u4eec\u8ba4\u4e3a\u745c\u4f3d\u662f\u201c\u4e60\u7ec3\u201d\u7684\u4e1c\u897f\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u6ca1\u6709\u7ed9\u4e88\u201c\u4fee\u884c\u201d\u4e00\u4e2a\u6846\u67b6\uff1b\u800c\u5e15\u5766\u4f3d\u5229\u5728\u4ed6\u7684\u7ecf\u6587\u91cc\uff0c\u5728\u8bba\u53ca\u516b\u652f\u745c\u4f3d\u65f6\uff0c\u5374\u63d0\u5230\u4e86\u201c\u4fee\u884c\u201d\uff0c\u4ed6\u5e76\u6ca1\u6709\u8bf4\u201c\u745c\u4f3d\u4e60\u7ec3\u201d\uff0c\u4ed6\u5e76\u6ca1\u6709\u8bf4\u201c\u745c\u4f3d\u4fee\u4e60\u201d\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e9b\u5176\u5b9e\u5168\u90fd\u662f\u6211\u4eec\u5fc5\u987b\u8fdb\u884c\u7684\u65e9\u671f\u9636\u6bb5\/\u6b65\u9aa4\uff0c\u5373\u5728\u201c\u4fee\u884c\u201d\u4e4b\u524d\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u5fc5\u987b\u7ecf\u8fc7\u5176\u4ed6\u51c6\u5907\u3001\u5176\u4ed6\u9636\u6bb5\uff0c\u6bd4\u5982\u4e60\u7ec3\u3001\u4fee\u4e60\u3001\u7eaa\u5f8b\u7b49\u7b49\u3002<br><br>So yamas, niyamas&nbsp;come in&nbsp;anusthana, therefore they are dharma. Anusthana&nbsp;is a term&nbsp;which is&nbsp;only&nbsp;in&nbsp;dharma, karma, jnana, mantra&nbsp;and yoga. So,&nbsp;that is another kind of point which I\u2019m&nbsp;putting&nbsp;forward for you to understand&nbsp;that&nbsp;these are not moral-ethical principles.<br><br>\u56e0\u6b64\uff0cyamas\u548cniyamas\u964d\u4e34\u5230\u4e86\u201c\u4fee\u884c\u201d\u4e4b\u4e2d\uff0c\u5b83\u4eec\u4e5f\u7531\u6b64\u800c\u6210\u4e3a\u4e86dharma\u2014\u2014\u8d23\u4efb\u610f\u8bc6\uff0canusthana\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u53ea\u5b58\u5728\u4e8e\u201c\u8d23\u4efb\u3001\u884c\u4e3a\u3001\u667a\u6167\u3001\u66fc\u9640\u7f57\u3001\u745c\u4f3d\u201d\u4e2d\u7684\u4e13\u4e1a\u672f\u8bed\uff1b\u6240\u4ee5\uff0c\u90a3\u662f\u6211\u4e3a\u4e86\u8ba9\u4f60\u4eec\u7406\u89e3yamas\u548cniyamas\u4e0d\u662f\u9053\u5fb7-\u4f26\u7406\u51c6\u5219\u800c\u7ed9\u51fa\u7684\u53e6\u4e00\u4e2a\u8981\u70b9\u3002<br><br>Now going to the next topic. Meditation has become a fashion so much so that even in the medicos&nbsp;are prescribing meditation for certain problems, coronary-management,&nbsp;they say there must be some meditation done; stress-management, they speak of meditation. So&nbsp;people are trying to go for meditation, everyone wants to go for meditation.<br><br>\u73b0\u5728\u8981\u8fdb\u5165\u4e0b\u4e00\u4e2a\u8bdd\u9898\uff0c\u5728\u8fdb\u5165\u4e0b\u4e00\u4e2a\u8bdd\u9898\u4e4b\u524d\uff0c\u6211\u88ab\u95ee\u53ca\u4e86\u4e00\u4e2a\u95ee\u9898\uff0c\u90a3\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u5f88\u91cd\u8981\u7684\u95ee\u9898\u3001\u5f88\u5173\u952e\u7684\u95ee\u9898\uff0c\u4e5f\u662f\u6211\u60f3\u56de\u7b54\u7684\u95ee\u9898\u3002\u56e0\u4e3a\u4eca\u65f6\u4eca\u65e5\uff0c\u4eba\u4eec\u5bf9\u745c\u4f3d\u548c\u51a5\u60f3\u90fd\u5f88\u7740\u8ff7\uff0c\u51a5\u60f3\u6210\u4e86\u4e00\u79cd\u65f6\u5c1a\uff0c\u751a\u81f3\u53d1\u5c55\u5230\u4e86\u8fde\u533b\u5b66\u90fd\u5c06\u51a5\u60f3\u5f53\u6210\u4e86\u67d0\u4e9b\u95ee\u9898\u7684\u5904\u65b9\uff1b\u51a0\u72b6\u52a8\u8109\u95ee\u9898\u7684\u7ba1\u7406\uff0c\u4ed6\u4eec\u8bf4\u5fc5\u987b\u8981\u505a\u4e9b\u51a5\u60f3\uff1b\u7cbe\u795e\u538b\u529b\u95ee\u9898\u7684\u7ba1\u7406\uff0c\u4ed6\u4eec\u63d0\u5230\u4e86\u51a5\u60f3\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u4eba\u4eec\u90fd\u5c1d\u8bd5\u53bb\u51a5\u60f3\uff0c\u6bcf\u4e2a\u4eba\u90fd\u60f3\u53bb\u51a5\u60f3\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-small-font-size\"><strong><span style=\"color: var(--theme-palette-color-8, #ffffff);background-color: #f34957\" class=\"stk-highlight\">\u201c\u666e\u5c1a\u5409\u8bed\u201d\u53d1\u5e03<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The strange thing is that everyone wants to get meditation, everyone wants to try and get meditation, no one wants to know what is meditation. This is a very strange scenario. When you have such an&nbsp;intent to&nbsp;go for meditation, why is that one is not trying to understand what is meditation?&nbsp;The question put to&nbsp;me was that&nbsp;Guruji often said&nbsp;that&nbsp;his yoga&nbsp;is dynamic meditation.<br><br>\u5947\u602a\u7684\u4e8b\u60c5\u5374\u662f\uff1a\u6bcf\u4e2a\u4eba\u90fd\u60f3\u83b7\u5f97\u51a5\u60f3\uff0c\u6bcf\u4e2a\u4eba\u90fd\u60f3\u5c1d\u8bd5\u51a5\u60f3\u5e76\u4e14\u83b7\u5f97\u51a5\u60f3\uff0c\u5374\u6ca1\u6709\u4eba\u60f3\u4e86\u89e3\u4ec0\u4e48\u662f\u51a5\u60f3\uff0c\u8fd9\u662f\u4e2a\u975e\u5e38\u5947\u602a\u7684\u73b0\u8c61\u3002\u5f53\u4f60\u6709\u4e86\u8fd9\u6837\u4e00\u4e2a\u51a5\u60f3\u610f\u613f\u65f6\uff0c\u4e3a\u4f55\u4e0d\u53bb\u5c1d\u8bd5\u4e86\u89e3\u4ec0\u4e48\u662f\u51a5\u60f3? \u7ed9\u6211\u7684\u8fd9\u4e2a\u95ee\u9898\u662f\uff1a\u827e\u626c\u683c\u5927\u5e08\u5e38\u8bf4\u4ed6\u7684\u745c\u4f3d\u662f\u52a8\u6001\u7684\u51a5\u60f3\u3002<br><br>Nobody questioned how yoga is meditation. The asanas&nbsp;for Iyengar Yoga,&nbsp;that is&nbsp;the practice, how&nbsp;it can be a dynamic-meditation? Because usually meditation means, one imagines: sitting\/sitting&nbsp;quiet\/relaxed\/and then closing the eyes and doing something as meditation. So&nbsp;everyone wants to make an attempt for meditation. But it is important that we must know what is meditation.<br><br>\u6ca1\u6709\u4eba\u66fe\u7ecf\u95ee\u8fc7\u745c\u4f3d\u5982\u4f55\u662f\u51a5\u60f3\uff0c\u4f53\u5f0f\u5bf9\u4e8e\u201c\u827e\u626c\u683c\u745c\u4f3d\u201d\u800c\u8a00\uff0c\u5c31\u662f\u7ec3\uff0c\u90a3\u600e\u4e48\u5c31\u6210\u4e86\u201c\u52a8\u6001\u7684\u51a5\u60f3\u201d\uff1f\u56e0\u4e3a\u51a5\u60f3\u901a\u5e38\u610f\u5473\u7740\u3001\u4eba\u4eec\u60f3\u8c61\u7740\uff0c\u5b83\u662f\u8fd9\u6837\u7684\uff1a\u5750\u7740\/\u5b89\u9759\u5730\u5750\u7740\/\u653e\u677e\uff0c\u7136\u540e\u95ed\u4e0a\u773c\u775b\uff0c\u53bb\u505a\u51a5\u60f3\u3002\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u6bcf\u4e2a\u4eba\u90fd\u60f3\u4e3a\u4e86\u51a5\u60f3\u800c\u505a\u51fa\u52aa\u529b\uff0c\u4f46\u91cd\u8981\u7684\u5374\u662f\uff1a\u6211\u4eec\u5fc5\u987b\u4e86\u89e3\u4ec0\u4e48\u662f\u51a5\u60f3\u3002<br><br>Meditation is a psychological(act), psycho-mental act. At the outset, let me tell you, I\u2019m not talking about dhyana. Meditationis not dhyana. Dhyana is a wider concept.&nbsp;Meditation is a component&nbsp;of it, meditation is a part of it, meditation is a facet of it.<br><br>\u51a5\u60f3\u662f\u5fc3\u7406\u610f\u4e49\u4e0a\u7684\u884c\u4e3a\u3001\u5fc3\u7406-\u7cbe\u795e\u610f\u4e49\u4e0a\u7684\u884c\u4e3a\uff0c\u8ba9\u6211\u4ece\u5934\u544a\u8bc9\u4f60\u4eec\uff0c\u6211\u5e76\u6ca1\u6709\u5728\u8c08\u8bbadhyana\uff0c\u51a5\u60f3\u4e0d\u662fdhyana\uff0cdhyana\u662f\u66f4\u5e7f\u6cdb\u7684\u6982\u5ff5\uff0c\u51a5\u60f3\u5219\u662f\u5b83\u7684\u7ec4\u6210\u90e8\u5206\uff0c\u51a5\u60f3\u662f\u5b83\u7684\u4e00\u4e2a\u90e8\u5206\uff0c\u51a5\u60f3\u662f\u5b83\u7684\u4e00\u4e2a\u65b9\u9762\u3002<br><br>We should not equate meditation with dhyana. Dhyana has a wider scope. Anyway, people are not interested today in dhyana, they are all interested in meditation&nbsp;particularly. The western world which has come into the fold&nbsp;of yoga, dhyana&nbsp;is not a familiar term for them and they have been told that dhyana&nbsp;is meditation and therefore they are going for meditation, they want to go for meditation.<br><br>\u6211\u4eec\u4e0d\u8be5\u5c06\u51a5\u60f3\u4e0edhyana\u5212\u4e0a\u7b49\u53f7\uff0cdhyana\u7684\u8303\u56f4\u66f4\u52a0\u5e7f\u6cdb\u3002\u4e0d\u8fc7\uff0c\u4eca\u65f6\u4eca\u65e5\u7684\u4eba\u4eec\u5bf9dhyana\u6ca1\u6709\u4ec0\u4e48\u5174\u8da3\uff0c\u53cd\u5012\u662f\u5bf9\u51a5\u60f3\u90fd\u611f\u5174\u8da3\u3002\u8fdb\u5165\u745c\u4f3d\u5708\u7684\u897f\u65b9\u4e16\u754c\uff0cdhyana\u5bf9\u5b83\u4eec\u7684\u4eba\u800c\u8a00\uff0c\u4e0d\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u719f\u6089\u7684\u8bcd\uff0c\u800c\u4e14\u4ed6\u4eec\u4e5f\u65e9\u5df2\u88ab\u544a\u77e5dhyana\u5c31\u662f\u51a5\u60f3\uff0c\u56e0\u6b64\u4ed6\u4eec\u5c31\u53bb\u8ffd\u6c42\u51a5\u60f3\u4e86\uff0c\u4ed6\u4eec\u60f3\u8981\u8ffd\u6c42\u51a5\u60f3\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-small-font-size\"><strong><span style=\"color: var(--theme-palette-color-8, #ffffff);background-color: #f34957\" class=\"stk-highlight\">\u201c\u666e\u5c1a\u5409\u8bed\u201d\u53d1\u5e03<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let me try to give a little explanation about what meditation&nbsp;is. That\u2019s why it is a psychological,&nbsp;psycho-mental process.<br><br>\u8ba9\u6211\u5c1d\u8bd5\u5c31\u201c\u4ec0\u4e48\u662f\u51a5\u60f3\u201d\u7ed9\u51fa\u4e00\u70b9\u89e3\u91ca\uff1b\u51a5\u60f3\u662f\u5fc3\u7406\u610f\u4e49\u4e0a\u7684\u884c\u4e3a\u3001\u5fc3\u7406-\u7cbe\u795e\u610f\u4e49\u4e0a\u7684\u884c\u4e3a\uff0c\u90a3\u662f\u5c5e\u4e8e\u5927\u8111\u7684\u884c\u4e3a\uff0c\u90a3\u662f\u5927\u8111\u91cc\u9762\u7684\u884c\u4e3a\u3001\u90a3\u662f\u6e90\u81ea\u5927\u8111\u7684\u884c\u4e3a\u3001\u90a3\u662f\u901a\u8fc7\u5927\u8111\u7684\u884c\u4e3a\uff0c\u5c5e\u4e8e\u5927\u8111\uff0c\u90a3\u5c31\u662f\u4e3a\u4f55\u8bf4\u5b83\u662f\u5fc3\u7406\u610f\u4e49\u4e0a\u3001\u5fc3\u7406-\u7cbe\u795e\u610f\u4e49\u4e0a\u7684\u8fc7\u7a0b\u3002<br><br>Now, that means meditation will always have a thought. You can\u2019t be having no thought and then go for meditation.&nbsp;Absolute thoughtlessness will not be meditation, it is something else which&nbsp;Patanjali speaks about \u2018chitta&nbsp;vrittinirodhah\u2019, in case the mind is restrained, chitta&nbsp;is restrained, it\u2019s a different state. Meditation is however not bereft of a thought.<br><br>\u8bf4\u5230\u8fd9\u91cc\uff0c\u90a3\u4e5f\u610f\u5473\u7740\u51a5\u60f3\u603b\u4f1a\u6709\u601d\u60f3\/\u5ff5\u5934\uff0c\u4f60\u4e0d\u53ef\u80fd\u6ca1\u6709\u601d\u60f3\/\u5ff5\u5934\u800c\u8fdb\u884c\u51a5\u60f3\u3002\u7edd\u5bf9\u7684\u65e0\u601d\/\u65e0\u5ff5\uff0c\u5e76\u975e\u51a5\u60f3\uff0c\u90a3\u662f\u5e15\u5766\u4f3d\u5229\u8bba\u53ca\u7684\u53e6\u4e00\u79cd\u4e1c\u897f\uff0c\u5373&nbsp;\u201c\u7ec8\u6b62\u610f\u8bc6\u4e4b\u6ce2\u52a8\u201d\uff1b\u5728\u90a3\u79cd\u60c5\u51b5\u4e0b\uff0c\u5934\u8111\u610f\u8bc6\u5f97\u5230\u4e86\u63a7\u5236\uff0cchitta\uff08\u610f\u8bc6\uff09\u5f97\u5230\u4e86\u63a7\u5236\uff0c\u90a3\u662f\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u72b6\u6001\uff0c\u4f46\u51a5\u60f3\u5e76\u975e\u4e27\u5931\u4e86\u601d\u60f3\/\u5ff5\u5934\u3002<br><br>Now usually, we worldly people only know about a thought and then we are in thinking. We think and then there\u2019s a&nbsp;thought; keep thinking, we&nbsp;have a&nbsp;thought;&nbsp;keep on thinking, we have a thought,&nbsp;we have thoughts. Thoughts come and go. Thoughts have inward-outward movements. Thoughts arrive, thoughts depart. So&nbsp;there\u2019s traffic of thoughts going on.<br><br>\u6211\u4eec\u4e16\u4fd7\u4e4b\u4eba\u901a\u5e38\u53ea\u77e5\u9053\u5173\u4e8e\u601d\u60f3\/\u5ff5\u5934\u7684\u4e1c\u897f\uff0c\u7136\u540e\u6211\u4eec\u5c31\u5f00\u59cb\u60f3\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u60f3\u554a\u60f3\uff0c\u7136\u540e\u53c8\u6709\u4e86\u60f3\u6cd5\uff1b\u7ee7\u7eed\u60f3\u4e0b\u53bb\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u53c8\u6709\u4e86\u60f3\u6cd5\uff1b\u518d\u7ee7\u7eed\u60f3\u4e0b\u53bb\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u53c8\u6709\u4e86\u60f3\u6cd5\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u6709\u4e86\u5404\u79cd\u60f3\u6cd5\uff0c\u60f3\u6cd5\u6765\u6765\u53bb\u53bb\uff0c\u60f3\u6cd5\u6709\u4e86\u8fdb\u51fa\u7684\u6d3b\u52a8\uff0c\u60f3\u6cd5\u7c89\u58a8\u767b\u573a\u3001\u60f3\u6cd5\u53c8\u544a\u522b\u6211\u4eec\u800c\u53bb\uff0c\u56e0\u6b64\u4e5f\u5c31\u6709\u4e86\u8ba9\u601d\u60f3\u7ee7\u7eed\u8fdb\u884c\u7684\u901a\u9053\u3002<br><br>So while the thoughts are on, even in our mundane state, worldly state, a wakeful&nbsp;state, the thoughts are on, then&nbsp;meditation is something different. The point is there\u2019s always a thought and then we keep thinking.<br><br>\u56e0\u6b64\u601d\u60f3\u4f1a\u7ee7\u7eed\u8fdb\u884c\uff0c\u751a\u81f3\u5728\u6211\u4eec\u5904\u4e8e\u5c18\u4e16\u95f4\u7684\u72b6\u6001\u91cc\u3001\u4e16\u4fd7\u7684\u72b6\u6001\u91cc\u3001\u6e05\u9192\u7684\u72b6\u6001\u91cc\uff0c\u601d\u60f3\u90fd\u4f1a\u7ee7\u7eed\u4e0b\u53bb\uff0c\u51a5\u60f3\u5374\u662f\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u4e1c\u897f\u3002\u4f46\u91cd\u70b9\u662f\uff0c\u603b\u4f1a\u6709\u601d\u60f3\u5b58\u5728\uff0c\u7136\u540e\u6211\u4eec\u5c31\u4f1a\u7ee7\u7eed\u601d\u8003\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-small-font-size\"><strong><span style=\"color: var(--theme-palette-color-8, #ffffff);background-color: #f34957\" class=\"stk-highlight\">\u201c\u666e\u5c1a\u5409\u8bed\u201d\u53d1\u5e03<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now meditation can take place which isa thought process, which is a thinking process, it can take place in only particular realms. Any thought matter, any thought content, doesn\u2019t qualify&nbsp;to go for meditative state. Every thought will not culminate&nbsp;in meditative state. There\u2019re only a few thoughts, sublime thoughts, transcendent thoughts. It requires&nbsp;suitable thought matter for going to a meditative state. So,&nbsp;meditativity&nbsp;depends upon the thought, how transcendent the thought is, how noble a thought is, how virtuous a thought is. Any thought cannot land in meditativity. &nbsp;<br><br>\u8bf4\u5230\u8fd9\u91cc\uff0c\u51a5\u60f3\u5373\u4f5c\u4e3a\u4e00\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u8fc7\u7a0b\u800c\u8fdb\u884c\uff0c\u90a3\u662f\u601d\u8003\u8fc7\u7a0b\u3001\u90a3\u53ea\u4f1a\u5728\u7279\u5b9a\u7684\u9886\u57df\u5185\u624d\u4f1a\u53d1\u751f\uff0c\u4e0d\u662f\u4efb\u4f55\u601d\u60f3\u7269\u8d28\u3001\u4e0d\u662f\u4efb\u4f55\u601d\u60f3\u5185\u5bb9\u90fd\u5177\u6709\u8fdb\u5165\u51a5\u60f3\u72b6\u6001\u7684\u8d44\u683c\uff0c\u4e0d\u662f\u6bcf\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u90fd\u80fd\u7ec8\u7ed3\u5728\u51a5\u60f3\u72b6\u6001\u5f53\u4e2d\uff0c\u53ea\u6709\u6781\u5c11\u7684\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u5373\u5723\u6d01\u7684\u601d\u60f3\u3001\u8d85\u51e1\u8131\u4fd7\u7684\u601d\u60f3\uff08\u624d\u53ef\u4ee5\uff09\uff0c\u9700\u8981\u9002\u4e8e\u51a5\u60f3\u72b6\u6001\u7684\u601d\u60f3\u7269\u8d28\u3002\u56e0\u6b64\u51a5\u60f3\u6027\uff0c\u8981\u53d6\u51b3\u4e8e\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u53d6\u51b3\u4e8e\u601d\u60f3\u8d85\u51e1\u8131\u4fd7\u7684\u7a0b\u5ea6\u3001\u53d6\u51b3\u4e8e\u601d\u60f3\u662f\u5426\u9ad8\u5c1a\u3001\u53d6\u51b3\u4e8e\u601d\u60f3\u662f\u5426\u9053\u5fb7\uff0c\u4e0d\u662f\u4efb\u4f55\u601d\u60f3\u90fd\u80fd\u5728\u51a5\u60f3\u6027\u4e2d\u843d\u5730\u3002<br><br>So when there\u2019s a thought, there\u2019s invariably&nbsp;thinking; when there\u2019s a thinking, there\u2019s a thinker. So&nbsp;there\u2019s a triad&nbsp;which constitutes the process of our thought. It&nbsp;may&nbsp;be a non-&nbsp;meditative thought or&nbsp;it could&nbsp;be a meditative thought.<br><br>\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u5f53\u6709\u4e86\u4e00\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u7684\u65f6\u5019\uff0c\u5c31\u4e0d\u53ef\u907f\u514d\u5730\u6709\u4e86\u201c\u60f3\u201d\u7684\u8fc7\u7a0b\uff08\u5373\u601d\u8003\uff09\uff1b\u5f53\u6709\u4e86\u601d\u8003\u7684\u65f6\u5019\uff0c\u5c31\u6709\u4e86\u601d\u8003\u8005\uff08\u601d\u8003\u4e3b\u4f53\uff09\uff1b\u56e0\u6b64\u5373\u4ea7\u751f\u51fa\u4e86\u6784\u6210\u6211\u4eec\u601d\u60f3\u8fc7\u7a0b\u7684\u201c\u4e09\u4f53\u201d\uff0c\u56e0\u4e3a\u601d\u60f3\u53ef\u80fd\u4f1a\u662f\u4e0d\u5177\u6709\u51a5\u60f3\u6027\u7684\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u6216\u53ef\u80fd\u4f1a\u662f\u5177\u6709\u51a5\u60f3\u6027\u7684\u601d\u60f3\u3002<br><br>There will be invariably a thinker and there will be thinking and there will be a thought. Now we worldly people are merely used to thinking around a thought. We have a thought and we go on thinking, we go on thinking, we go on thinking. So&nbsp;there\u2019s always thinking about&nbsp;the&nbsp;thought, this will never land us in meditative state.<br><br>\u8fd8\u4e0d\u53ef\u907f\u514d\u5730\u5b58\u5728\u7740\u601d\u8003\u8005\uff0c\u8fd8\u5b58\u5728\u7740\u601d\u8003\uff0c\u8fd8\u5b58\u5728\u7740\u601d\u60f3\uff08\u88ab\u601d\u8003\u7684\u4e1c\u897f\uff09\u3002\u6211\u4eec\u4e16\u4fd7\u4e4b\u4eba\u73b0\u5728\u53ea\u4e60\u60ef\u4e8e\u56f4\u7ed5\u7740\u601d\u60f3\u8fdb\u884c\u601d\u8003\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u6709\u4e86\u4e00\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u5c31\u4f1a\u7ee7\u7eed\u53bb\u601d\u8003\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u7ee7\u7eed\u601d\u8003\u3001\u7ee7\u7eed\u601d\u8003\u3001\u7ee7\u7eed\u601d\u8003\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u5173\u4e8e\u90a3\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u603b\u4f1a\u6709\u601d\u8003\uff0c\u4f46\u8fd9\u6c38\u8fdc\u90fd\u65e0\u6cd5\u8ba9\u6211\u4eec\u5728\u51a5\u60f3\u6027\u7684\u72b6\u6001\u4e2d\u843d\u5730\u3002<br><br>What is meditation then? When there\u2019s this tri-partite constitution, there are a thinker, there\u2019s thinking and there\u2019s a thought. Understand these&nbsp;inflections&nbsp;of the word, it\u2019s one word having 3 inflections:&nbsp;thinker, thinking&nbsp;and a thought. Now we are only used&nbsp;to having a thinking process on a thought.&nbsp;We never have a thinking process on thinking. Now it is essential that there\u2019s a thinking process about&nbsp;very thinking.&nbsp;There\u2019s a thinking process about&nbsp;very thinker.<br><br>\u90a3\u4ec0\u4e48\u662f\u51a5\u60f3\uff1f\u5f53\u5b58\u5728\u8fd9&nbsp;\u201c\u4e09\u4f53\u201d&nbsp;\u7684\u7ec4\u6210\u90e8\u5206\u65f6\uff0c\u5373\u5b58\u5728\u7740\u601d\u8003\u8005\u3001\u601d\u8003\u3001\u601d\u60f3\u65f6\uff0c\u90a3\u624d\u662f\u51a5\u60f3\u3002\u8981\u53bb\u7406\u89e3\u8fd9\u4e2a\u8bcd\u7684\u8fd9\u4e9b\u5f62\u6001\u53d8\u5316\uff0c\u90a3\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u5177\u6709\u4e09\u79cd\u5f62\u6001\u53d8\u5316\u7684\u8bcd\uff0c\u5373\u601d\u8003\u8005\u3001\u601d\u8003\u3001\u601d\u60f3\u3002\u800c\u6211\u4eec\u73b0\u5728\u53ea\u662f\u4e60\u60ef\u4e8e\u5728\u4e00\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u4e0a\u6709\u601d\u8003\uff08\u8fc7\u7a0b\uff09\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u4ece\u672a\u5728\u601d\u8003\uff08\u8fc7\u7a0b\uff09\u672c\u8eab\u4e0a\uff0c\u4ea7\u751f\u8fc7\u601d\u8003\uff1b\u800c\u73b0\u5728\uff0c\u90a3\u624d\u662f\u6700\u57fa\u672c\u7684\uff0c\u8981\u6709\u5173\u4e8e\u90a3\u4e2a\u601d\u8003\u8fc7\u7a0b\u7684\u601d\u8003\u8fc7\u7a0b\uff0c\u8981\u6709\u5173\u4e8e\u90a3\u4e2a\u601d\u8003\u8005\u7684\u601d\u8003\u8fc7\u7a0b\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-small-font-size\"><strong><span style=\"color: var(--theme-palette-color-8, #ffffff);background-color: #f34957\" class=\"stk-highlight\">\u201c\u666e\u5c1a\u5409\u8bed\u201d\u53d1\u5e03<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So we will have to find a thought, not only the thought, but we will have&nbsp;to find a thought in thinking.&nbsp;We will have&nbsp;to find a thought in thinker. So just around the thought, if&nbsp;we go on hovering,&nbsp;hovering,&nbsp;hovering with thinking, it will not be&nbsp;meditativity. So,&nbsp;we&nbsp;will&nbsp;have to get used&nbsp;to a process.<br><br>\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u5fc5\u987b\u53bb\u627e\u5230\u4e00\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u4e0d\u4ec5\u8981\u627e\u5230\u5b83\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u8fd8\u8981\u627e\u5230\u601d\u8003\u5f53\u4e2d\u7684\u601d\u60f3\u3001\u6211\u4eec\u8981\u5728\u601d\u8003\u8005\u4e2d\u627e\u5230\u601d\u60f3\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\u6211\u4eec\u5982\u679c\u4ec5\u4ec5\u56f4\u7ed5\u7740\u601d\u60f3\u53bb\u601d\u8003\uff0c\u5982\u679c\u6211\u4eec\u7ee7\u7eed\u7528\u601d\u8003\u8fc7\u7a0b\u53bb\u601d\u8003\u3001\u601d\u8003\u3001\u601d\u8003\uff0c\u6765\u56de\u5730\u601d\u8003\uff0c\u90a3\u4e0d\u4f1a\u4ea7\u751f\u51a5\u60f3\u6027\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u5fc5\u987b\u4e60\u60ef\u8fd9\u6837\u7684\u4e00\u4e2a\uff08\u51a5\u60f3\u6027\u7684\uff09\u8fc7\u7a0b\u3002<br><br>Today the meditation has been suggested. Any Tom\/Dick\/and Harry suggests and we think we should embark upon meditation. Now listen carefully to what I say now. So&nbsp;there\u2019s a thinker, there\u2019s thinking, there\u2019s a thought. Don\u2019t just think about the thought. Don\u2019t just keep thinking about the thought. You&nbsp;must also investigate the very thought:&nbsp;what is this thought? why is this thought needed?&nbsp;From where the thought has come? What is the subject matter of the thought?&nbsp;What is the realm of the thought? We must have&nbsp;the investigation about the thought.<br><br>\u4eca\u65f6\u4eca\u65e5\uff0c\u51a5\u60f3\u88ab\u5927\u529b\u63a8\u5d07\uff0c\u4efb\u4f55\u4e00\u4e2a\u5f20\u4e09\/\u674e\u56db\/\u738b\u5c0f\u4e8c\uff0c\u90fd\u5efa\u8bae\u6211\u4eec\u53bb\u51a5\u60f3\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u4e5f\u8ba4\u4e3a\u6211\u4eec\u8be5\u5f00\u59cb\u53bb\u51a5\u60f3\u3002\u73b0\u5728\uff0c\u4ed4\u7ec6\u542c\u6211\u5728\u8fd9\u91cc\u8981\u8bb2\u7684\u4e1c\u897f\u2014\u2014\uff08\u51a5\u60f3\uff09\u5b58\u5728\u7740\u601d\u8003\u8005\u3001\u5b58\u5728\u7740\u601d\u8003\u3001\u5b58\u5728\u7740\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u4e0d\u8981\u53ea\u662f\u53bb\u601d\u8003\u90a3\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u4e0d\u8981\u53ea\u662f\u7ee7\u7eed\u53bb\u601d\u8003\u90a3\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u4f60\u8fd8\u5fc5\u987b\u53bb\u8c03\u67e5\u90a3\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u5373\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u662f\u4ec0\u4e48\uff1f\u4e3a\u4f55\u9700\u8981\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\uff1f\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u4ece\u4f55\u800c\u6765\uff1f\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u7684\u4e3b\u8981\u7269\u8d28\u662f\u4ec0\u4e48\uff1f\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u5c5e\u4e8e\u4ec0\u4e48\u8303\u7574\uff1f\u6211\u4eec\u5fc5\u987b\u5c31\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u8fdb\u884c\u4e00\u756a\u8c03\u67e5\u3002<br><br>So thought must be thought about. There&nbsp;will be&nbsp;thought about the thought, as to why this thought came, from when did it come, how did it come, what are the agencies&nbsp;through which I got the thought, what is the purpose of the thought,&nbsp;should I keep thinking&nbsp;on&nbsp;this thought?&nbsp;Is it worthwhile&nbsp;to be on thinking on&nbsp;this thought?&nbsp;So&nbsp;the thought must be under scrutiny. This is implied in meditativity.<br><br>\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u601d\u60f3\u5fc5\u987b\u88ab\u601d\u8003\uff0c\u90a3\u4f1a\u4ea7\u751f\u5173\u4e8e\u601d\u60f3\u7684\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u5373\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u4e3a\u4f55\u51fa\u73b0\uff1f\u5b83\u4ece\u4f55\u65f6\u51fa\u73b0\uff1f\u5982\u4f55\u51fa\u73b0\uff1f\u901a\u8fc7\u4ec0\u4e48\u8f7d\u4f53\u3001\u6211\u624d\u6709\u4e86\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\uff1f\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u7684\u76ee\u7684\u662f\u4ec0\u4e48\uff1f\u6211\u8be5\u7ee7\u7eed\u601d\u8003\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u5417\uff1f\u503c\u5f97\u5728\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u4e0a\u7ee7\u7eed\u601d\u8003\u4e0b\u53bb\u5417\uff1f\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u5fc5\u987b\u88ab\u7f6e\u4e8e\u5ba1\u89c6\u4e4b\u4e0b\uff0c\u8fd9\u88ab\u5305\u542b\u5728\u4e86\u51a5\u60f3\u6027\u5f53\u4e2d\u3002<br><br>Have a scrutiny ofyour thought: is&nbsp;thought of anything good to me? Should I continue to be having a thought in my mind,&nbsp;this thought in my mind? Or should I do away with the thought? Is the thought harmful? Or is the thought helpful, nourishing, helping&nbsp;me to get&nbsp;what I want.<br><br>\u8981\u5bf9\u4f60\u7684\u601d\u60f3\u8fdb\u884c\u4e00\u756a\u5ba1\u89c6\uff1a\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u91cc\u6709\u5bf9\u6211\u597d\u7684\u4e1c\u897f\u5417\uff1f\u6211\u8be5\u5728\u6211\u7684\u5934\u8111\u610f\u8bc6\u4e2d\u7ee7\u7eed\u4fdd\u7559\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u5417\uff1f\u6211\u8fd8\u662f\u8be5\u6446\u8131\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\uff1f\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u6709\u5bb3\u5417\uff1f\u8fd8\u662f\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u6709\u76ca\u3001\u6709\u8425\u517b\u3001\u6709\u52a9\u4e8e\u6211\u53bb\u5f97\u5230\u6211\u60f3\u8981\u7684\uff1f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-small-font-size\"><strong><span style=\"color: var(--theme-palette-color-8, #ffffff);background-color: #f34957\" class=\"stk-highlight\">\u201c\u666e\u5c1a\u5409\u8bed\u201d\u53d1\u5e03<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So there should be a thought&nbsp;about thought. There should be a thought about a thought. There should be thinking about the very thought, rather than just thinking and having&nbsp;a thought in thinking. Then let there&nbsp;be a thought: what is the thought content, thought container, thought resource, thought source, subject&nbsp;of thought, subject matter of thought, purpose of thought, worth of thought, value of thought.<br><br>\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u8be5\u6709\u601d\u60f3\u4e0a\u7684\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u8be5\u6709\u5173\u4e8e\u4e00\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u7684\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u5c31\u90a3\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u8be5\u6709\u601d\u8003\uff0c\u800c\u4e0d\u662f\u4ec5\u4ec5\u601d\u8003\u3001\u4ec5\u4ec5\u5728\u601d\u8003\u4e2d\u6709\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\uff1b\u8981\u8ba9\u90a3\u4e0a\u9762\u4e5f\u6709\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u5373\u4ec0\u4e48\u662f\u601d\u60f3\u7684\u5185\u5bb9\u3001\u4ec0\u4e48\u662f\u601d\u60f3\u7684\u5bb9\u5668\u3001\u601d\u60f3\u7684\u6765\u6e90\u3001\u601d\u60f3\u7684\u6e90\u5934\u3001\u601d\u60f3\u7684\u4e3b\u9898\u3001\u601d\u60f3\u7684\u4e3b\u8981\u7269\u8d28\u3001\u601d\u60f3\u7684\u76ee\u7684\u3001\u601d\u60f3\u7684\u5c5e\u6027\u3001\u601d\u60f3\u7684\u4ef7\u503c\u3002<br><br>You will not like to be thinking&nbsp;on something once&nbsp;you are convinced that it&nbsp;is worthless to have a thought&nbsp;about.&nbsp;You will not engage yourself in a thought once you realized&nbsp;it is worthless to be thinking on it; or it is&nbsp;disturbing me or it is agonizing me, annoying me. You will not continue to&nbsp;encourage the thought. So&nbsp;there should be scrutiny about&nbsp;the&nbsp;thought. So&nbsp;there should be thought about the thought and not just thinking on the&nbsp;thought. What are the tools with which I use for thinking? Because behind your thinking, if you are having a thinking, there\u2019s perception, there\u2019s cognition, there\u2019s sensation, there are memories, there are other inputs, there are experiences. So, they will all be constituting the thinking process. If they are not there, then the thinking process will not be constituted. So one needs to investigate aboutthe very thinking. How the thinking is taking&nbsp;place\uff1fWhat is the data supporting my thinking\uff1fWhat is underlying my thinking?&nbsp;As I just now said, there will be perceptions, you\u2019ll have perception, you\u2019ll have cognition, you\u2019ll have sensations, you\u2019ll have memories, then you\u2019ll have experiences. All these things constitute the thinking process. Why am I thinking? How am I thinking? How should I be thinking? How should I not be thinking? When should I be thinking? When should I not be thinking, because a thought is a good thought, thinking is a good process, but sometimes the place is not right, time is not right. So we have to have a scrutiny: is it right time to have thinking upon it? Is it&nbsp;right time to have thinking on a thought, particular thought? Is it right time to think about it? Thinking, if itis worthwhile to be thinking about but may be the time, space, situation may not be right. So we have to objectify this\uff1ais it the right time, space, situation, scenario for you to be thinking on this thought? So\uff0cthere must be a thought about thinking.<br><br>\u6211\u4eec\u5fc5\u987b\u5ba2\u89c2\u5730\u770b\u5f85\u8fd9\u4e2a\uff0c\u800c\u4e0d\u53ea\u662f\u7ee7\u7eed\u53bb\u601d\u8003\uff0c\u7ee7\u7eed\u53bb\u601d\u8003\u3001\u7ee7\u7eed\u53bb\u601d\u8003\uff0c\u800c\u662f\uff1a\u601d\u8003\u5b83\u7684\u65f6\u95f4\uff0c\u5bf9\u5417\uff1f\u601d\u8003\uff0c\u82e5\u90a3\u662f\u503c\u5f97\u601d\u8003\u7684\u4e1c\u897f\uff0c\u4f46\u53ef\u80fd\u65f6\u95f4\u3001\u7a7a\u95f4\u3001\u573a\u5408\u90fd\u4e0d\u5bf9\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u56e0\u6b64\u5fc5\u987b\u5c06\u8fd9\u4e2a\u5ba2\u4f53\u5316\uff0c\u5373\uff1a\u90a3\u662f\u4e0d\u662f\u8ba9\u4f60\u5728\u8fd9\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u4e0a\u8fdb\u884c\u601d\u8003\u7684\u5408\u9002\u65f6\u95f4\u3001\u7a7a\u95f4\u3001\u573a\u5408\u3001\u60c5\u666f\uff0c\u56e0\u6b64\u8fd8\u5fc5\u987b\u8981\u6709\u601d\u8003\u4e0a\u7684\u601d\u60f3\u3002<br><br>Then, there should be thought about thinker. What is the state of the thinker? Am I in a proper state of mind to be having thoughtfulness or thinking process? Am I vexed? Am I tormented? Am I angry? Do I have prejudices? There\u2019s no point of having thought process when you have prejudices about that particular thing.<br><br>\u7136\u540e\uff0c\u8be5\u6709\u5173\u4e8e\u601d\u8003\u8005\u7684\u601d\u60f3\u2014\u2014\u601d\u8003\u8005\u7684\u72b6\u6001\u662f\u4ec0\u4e48\uff1f\u6211\u662f\u5426\u5904\u4e8e\u5408\u9002\u7684\u5934\u8111\u610f\u8bc6\u72b6\u6001\u53bb\u8fdb\u884c\u6df1\u601d\u6216\u601d\u8003\u8fc7\u7a0b\uff1f\u6211\u5f88\u607c\u706b\u5417\uff1f\u6211\u5f88\u75db\u82e6\u5417\uff1f\u6211\u5f88\u751f\u6c14\u5417\uff1f\u6211\u6709\u504f\u89c1\u5417\uff1f\u5f53\u4f60\u5bf9\u67d0\u4ef6\u4e8b\u60c5\u6301\u6709\u504f\u89c1\u65f6\uff0c\u8fdb\u884c\u601d\u8003\u5c31\u6ca1\u6709\u610f\u4e49\u3002<br><br>So we would have to also investigate the thinker. Is the thinker in the right frame of mind to think about that thought there and then? Is the thinker in proper state of mind? Is the thinker in proper profile? Is it the proper profile to be thoughtful? If it\u2019s a vexed condition, tormented condition, agonizing condition or erupted&nbsp;condition with some malaise etc. then that\u2019s not the right time to be thinking, the thinker should not be thinking then. It is so important and also some thought about very thought rather than just thinking and thinking and thinking. Because if you don\u2019t analyze the thoughts, some thoughts have a stress-potential, tension-potential, stress-potential, anxiety-potential, worry-potential,&nbsp;tormentation-potential. So these are the thoughts you want to be away from such thoughts, because they are vexing your mind. So thinking about thinker is a meditativity&nbsp;component, thinking about the thinker, rather than thinking about the thought; then thinking about the thinking, it\u2019s a meditative component rather than usual, worldly course of merely having a thinking process and a thought object.<br><br>\u540c\u7406\uff0c\u601d\u8003\u4e5f\u8be5\u5f97\u5230\u5ba1\u89c6\uff0c\u601d\u8003\u8005\u4e5f\u8be5\u88ab\u7f6e\u4e8e\u5ba1\u89c6\u4e4b\u4e0b\u3002\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u5173\u4e8e\u601d\u8003\u8005\u7684\u601d\u8003\u4e5f\u6210\u4e86\u51a5\u60f3\u6027\u7684\u7ec4\u6210\u90e8\u5206\uff0c\uff08\u51a5\u60f3\uff09\u662f\u5173\u4e8e\u601d\u8003\u8005\u7684\u601d\u8003\uff0c\u800c\u975e\u53ea\u53bb\u601d\u8003\u90a3\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\uff1b\u7136\u540e\uff0c\uff08\u51a5\u60f3\uff09\u662f\u5173\u4e8e\u90a3\u4e2a\u601d\u8003\u7684\u601d\u8003\uff0c\u90a3\u4e5f\u662f\u51a5\u60f3\u6027\u7684\u7ec4\u6210\u90e8\u5206\uff0c\u800c\u4e0d\u662f\u5e38\u89c4\u7684\u3001\u4e16\u4fd7\u7684\u8fc7\u7a0b\uff0c\u5373\u4ec5\u4ec5\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u601d\u8003\u8fc7\u7a0b\u3001\u4ec5\u4ec5\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u5bf9\u8c61\u3002<br><br>So you will&nbsp;realize&nbsp;that for meditativity, you would&nbsp;have to select a proper thought object or thought content. Any thought content cannot be leading you to meditativity. So there must be filtration about the thought. The thought must be suitable. Sometimes the subjective entity comes on the anvil. These were&nbsp;happening to Guruji in his practices. He was not just trying to perfect his sirsasana, he was getting his subjective entity on the anvil, on the operation table and carve, sculpt, culture the subjective entity.<br><br>\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u4ece\u4f20\u7edf\u610f\u4e49\u4e0a\u8bb2\uff0c\u5728\u4f53\u5f0f\u6027\u8d28\u7684\u5448\u73b0\u5f53\u4e2d\uff0c\u5b58\u5728\u7740\u4e3b\u4f53\u3001\u5b58\u5728\u7740\u5ba2\u4f53\u3001\u5b58\u5728\u7740\u8f7d\u4f53\u3002\u6709\u65f6\u5019\uff0c\u4e3b\u4f53\u4f1a\u88ab\u653e\u5728\u6848\u677f\u4e0a\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e9b\u5c31\u662f\u5728\u827e\u626c\u683c\u5927\u5e08\u7684\u4e60\u7ec3\u4e2d\u53d1\u751f\u5728\u4ed6\u8eab\u4e0a\u7684\u4e8b\u60c5\uff0c\u4ed6\u5e76\u975e\u53ea\u662f\u5728\u5c1d\u8bd5\u53bb\u5b8c\u7f8e\u4ed6\u7684\u5934\u5012\u7acb\uff0c\u4ed6\u662f\u5c06\u4ed6\u7684\u4e3b\u4f53\u653e\u5728\u4e86\u6848\u677f\u4e0a\u3001\u653e\u5728\u4e86\u624b\u672f\u53f0\u4e0a\uff0c\u53bb\u96d5\u523b\u3001\u53bb\u96d5\u7422\u3001\u53bb\u80b2\u5316\u90a3\u4e2a\u4e3b\u4f53\u3002<br><br>So he would objectify the subjective entity. That is called witnessivity, auto-witnessivity, self-witnessivity. So in his yoga, he was having auto-witnessivity and therefore he would set right his subjective entity; whereas we have mistaken the process and we just go on correcting our sirsasana, we go on correcting our sarvangasana, we go on correcting our trikonasana, but we don\u2019t try to get corrected&nbsp;ourselves in a subjective profile whereas that\u2019s the implication of an asana.<br><br>\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u4ed6\u4f1a\u53bb\u5ba2\u4f53\u5316\u4ed6\u7684\u4e3b\u4f53\uff0c\u5373\u88ab\u79f0\u4e3a\u201c\u89c2\u201d\u3001\u201c\u81ea\u52a8-\u89c2\u201d\u3001\u201c\u89c2\u81ea\u6211\u201d\u3002\u56e0\u6b64\u5728\u4ed6\u7684\u745c\u4f3d\u4e2d\uff0c\u4ed6\u5728\u8fdb\u884c\u201c\u81ea\u52a8-\u89c2\u201d\uff0c\u4ed6\u56e0\u6b64\u800c\u4fee\u6b63\u4e86\u4ed6\u7684\u4e3b\u4f53\uff1b\u6211\u4eec\u5374\u8bef\u89e3\u4e86\u90a3\u4e2a\u8fc7\u7a0b\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u53ea\u53bb\u7ea0\u6b63\u6211\u4eec\u7684\u5934\u5012\u7acb\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u53ea\u53bb\u7ea0\u6b63\u6211\u4eec\u7684\u80a9\u5012\u7acb\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u53ea\u53bb\u7ea0\u6b63\u6211\u4eec\u7684\u4e09\u89d2\u5f0f\uff0c\u4f46\u6211\u4eec\u6ca1\u6709\u5c1d\u8bd5\u5728\u4e3b\u4f53\u7684\u5c42\u9762\u53bb\u7ea0\u6b63\u6211\u4eec\u7684\u81ea\u6211\uff0c\u4f46\u90a3\u624d\u662f\u4f53\u5f0f\u7684\u542b\u4e49\u3002<br><br>So Guruji would be doing that, that in any asana, there would be thought process. Now this is an adhyatmik thought process. Usually for us, a thought object or thinking process, there\u2019s some external elements coming in; whereas in yoga, there is no external elements coming in. The \u2018doer-doing-done\u2019&nbsp;are all integral to one, to oneself. What is the point in doing a perfect sirsasana for sight by hook or crook? So, instrumentation should be proper, so that should be under scrutiny: how am I doing? How&nbsp;the instruments are being used? Are they justifiably used? Are they properly used?<br><br>\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u827e\u626c\u683c\u5927\u5e08\u4e0d\u4ec5\u5c06\u4ed6\u7684\u4f53\u5f0f\u7f6e\u4e8e\u5ba1\u89c6\u4e4b\u4e0b\uff0c\u4ed6\u8fd8\u5c06\u4ed6\u505a\u4f53\u5f0f\u7684\u8f7d\u4f53\u4e5f\u7f6e\u4e8e\u5ba1\u89c6\u4e4b\u4e0b\u3002\u82e5\u4e3a\u4e86\u89c6\u89c9\u6548\u679c\u800c\u505a\u51fa\u4e00\u4e2a\u5b8c\u7f8e\u7684\u5934\u5012\u7acb\u3001\u4ece\u800c\u91c7\u53d6\u4e86\u6b6a\u95e8\u90aa\u9053\u7684\u65b9\u5f0f\uff0c\u90a3\u610f\u4e49\u53c8\u4f55\u5728\uff1f\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u8f7d\u4f53\u4e5f\u8be5\u662f\u6b63\u5f53\u7684\uff0c\u4e5f\u5e94\u8be5\u88ab\u7f6e\u4e8e\u5ba1\u89c6\u4e4b\u4e0b\uff0c\u5373\u6211\u5728\u5982\u4f55\u505a\uff1f\u8f7d\u4f53\u5728\u88ab\u5982\u4f55\u4f7f\u7528\uff1f\u5b83\u4eec\u5728\u88ab\u516c\u6b63\u5730\u4f7f\u7528\u5417\uff1f\u5b83\u4eec\u5728\u88ab\u6070\u5f53\u5730\u4f7f\u7528\u5417\uff1f<br><br>We just want to do an asana perfectly, we don\u2019t bother about the instruments of it, because we think asana is a posture, posture is a spectacular thing and spectacle, sowe try to work on an asana as a spectacle, we don\u2019t bother about what we do inside, we don\u2019t bother about the processes, we want to just perfect an&nbsp;asana.<br><br>\u6211\u4eec\u53ea\u60f3\u5b8c\u7f8e\u5730\u505a\u51fa\u4e00\u4e2a\u4f53\u5f0f\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u5e76\u4e0d\u5728\u610f\u5b83\u7684\u8f7d\u4f53\uff0c\u56e0\u4e3a\u6211\u4eec\u8ba4\u4e3a\u4f53\u5f0f\u5c31\u662f\u59ff\u52bf\uff0c\u59ff\u52bf\u5c31\u662f\u8ba9\u4eba\u89c2\u770b\u7684\u4e1c\u897f\u3001\u8868\u6f14\u7684\u4e1c\u897f\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u6211\u4eec\u5728\u4f53\u5f0f\u4e0a\u628a\u5b83\u5f53\u4f5c\u8868\u6f14\u53bb\u52aa\u529b\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u5e76\u4e0d\u5728\u610f\u6211\u4eec\u5728\u91cc\u9762\u90fd\u505a\u4e86\u4ec0\u4e48\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u5e76\u4e0d\u5728\u610f\u8fd9\u4e9b\u8fc7\u7a0b\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u53ea\u60f3\u53bb\u5b8c\u7f8e\u4f53\u5f0f\u3002<br><br>Guruji would have thought process on instruments, Guruji would have a thought process on subjective entity. Because in meditativity, you get reflections. That is why in higher faculty functions, the process is pensivity, reflectivity, meditativity. If there\u2019s no reflectivity and no reflection, you can\u2019t meditate. So you don\u2019t meditate on a thought, you meditate on a reflection of a thought. You meditate on reflectivity. If there\u2019s no reflectivity, you can\u2019t get meditativity. Pensivity should be there.<br><br>\u827e\u626c\u683c\u5927\u5e08\u4f1a\u5728\u8f7d\u4f53\u4e0a\u4e5f\u6709\u601d\u60f3\u8fc7\u7a0b\uff0c\u827e\u626c\u683c\u5927\u5e08\u4f1a\u5728\u4e3b\u4f53\u4e0a\u6709\u601d\u60f3\u8fc7\u7a0b\uff0c\u56e0\u4e3a\u5728\u51a5\u60f3\u6027\u4e2d\uff0c\u4f60\u4f1a\u83b7\u5f97\u53cd\u601d\uff0c\u90a3\u5c31\u662f\u4e3a\u4f55\u5728\u66f4\u9ad8\u7684\u5927\u8111\u5b98\u80fd\u4e2d\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e2a\u8fc7\u7a0b\u6781\u5177\u6df1\u601d\u6027\u3001\u53cd\u601d\u6027\u3001\u51a5\u60f3\u6027\u3002\u5982\u679c\u6ca1\u6709\u53cd\u601d\u6027\uff0c\u4e5f\u5c31\u6ca1\u6709\u53cd\u601d\uff0c\u4f60\u5c31\u65e0\u6cd5\u51a5\u60f3\u3002\u4f60\u65e0\u6cd5\u5728\u4e00\u4e2a\u601d\u60f3\u4e0a\u8fdb\u884c\u51a5\u60f3\uff0c\u4f60\u4f1a\u5728\u7ecf\u8fc7\u4e86\u53cd\u601d\u7684\u601d\u60f3\u4e0a\u8fdb\u884c\u51a5\u60f3\uff0c\u4f60\u4f1a\u5728\u53cd\u601d\u6027\u4e0a\u8fdb\u884c\u51a5\u60f3\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u5982\u679c\u6ca1\u6709\u53cd\u601d\u6027\uff0c\u4f60\u5c31\u65e0\u6cd5\u83b7\u5f97\u51a5\u60f3\u6027\uff0c\u6df1\u601d\u6027\u4e5f\u8be5\u5728\u90a3\u91cc\u3002<br><br>These are higher faculty functions and that\u2019s why I said at the outset, that these are psychological psycho-mental processes. Meditativity&nbsp;is out of pensivity, reflectivity, meditativity. But we have messed up in our understanding. We think first we must concentrate, the concentration leads to meditation is what our notion, idea. That\u2019s why we have got the triad of concentration-meditation-trance. That is not right. That is a fault.<br><br>\u8fd9\u4e9b\u5c31\u662f\u66f4\u9ad8\u7684\u5927\u8111\u5b98\u80fd\uff0c\u90a3\u5c31\u662f\u4e3a\u4f55\u6211\u5728\u5f00\u59cb\u65f6\u8bf4\u2014\u2014\u8fd9\u4e9b\u90fd\u662f\u5fc3\u7406\u610f\u4e49\u4e0a\u7684\u3001\u5fc3\u7406-\u7cbe\u795e\u610f\u4e49\u4e0a\u8fc7\u7a0b\u3002\u51a5\u60f3\u6027\u51fa\u81ea\u4e8e\u6df1\u601d\u6027\u3001\u53cd\u601d\u6027\u3001\u51a5\u60f3\u6027\uff0c\u4f46\u6211\u4eec\u5374\u5728\u6211\u4eec\u7684\u7406\u89e3\u4e2d\u6df7\u6dc6\u4e86\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u8ba4\u4e3a\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u9996\u5148\u5fc5\u987b\u96c6\u4e2d\u6ce8\u610f\u529b\uff0c\u4e13\u6ce8\u624d\u4f1a\u5bfc\u81f4\u51a5\u60f3\uff0c\u8fd9\u662f\u6211\u4eec\u7684\u8ba4\u8bc6\u3001\u89c2\u70b9\uff0c\u90a3\u5c31\u662f\u4e3a\u4f55\u6211\u4eec\u83b7\u5f97\u4e86\u8fd9\u6837\u7684\u4e00\u4e2a\u4e09\u90e8\u66f2\uff1a\u201c\u4e13\u6ce8-\u51a5\u60f3-\u4e09\u6469\u5730\u201d\uff0c\u4f46\u90a3\u662f\u4e0d\u5bf9\u7684\uff0c\u90a3\u662f\u9519\u8bef\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-small-font-size\"><strong><span style=\"color: var(--theme-palette-color-8, #ffffff);background-color: #f34957\" class=\"stk-highlight\">\u201c\u666e\u5c1a\u5409\u8bed\u201d\u53d1\u5e03<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Concentration will never give you meditativity. Concentration is always on an object. Can you imagine concentration with no sensory object? You must have a sensory object to concentrate; with no sensory object,you can\u2019t concentrate. So, concentration is psycho-sensory.<br><br>\u201c\u4e13\u6ce8\u201d\u6c38\u8fdc\u4e0d\u4f1a\u7ed9\u4f60\u51a5\u60f3\u6027\uff0c\u201c\u4e13\u6ce8\u201d\u603b\u662f\u805a\u7126\u4e8e\u4e00\u4e2a\u7269\u4f53\u5bf9\u8c61\uff0c\u4f60\u80fd\u60f3\u8c61\u6ca1\u6709\u611f\u5b98\u5bf9\u8c61\u800c\u4e13\u6ce8\u5417\uff1f\u4f60\u5fc5\u987b\u8981\u6709\u4e00\u4e2a\u611f\u5b98\u5bf9\u8c61\u53bb\u4e13\u6ce8\uff1b\u6ca1\u6709\u611f\u5b98\u5bf9\u8c61\uff0c\u4f60\u5c31\u65e0\u6cd5\u4e13\u6ce8\u3002\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u4e13\u6ce8\u662f\u5fc3\u7406-\u611f\u53d7\u610f\u4e49\u4e0a\u7684\u4e1c\u897f\u3002<br><br>That is why the education is important. To have proper crystalisations. So concentration is psycho-sensory. That will escalate to a state, higher state, concentration and absorption. Concentration evolvement and then absorption, you can get absorbed in a sensory object. So we have wrongly brought in meditation as a link because of mistaken translation of dharana, dhyana, samadhi as concentration, meditation, trance.<br><br>\u90a3\u5c31\u662f\u4e3a\u4f55\u201c\u6559\u80b2\u201d\u81f3\u5173\u91cd\u8981\uff0c\u8981\uff08\u5bf9\u6b64\uff09\u6709\u4e00\u5b9a\u7684\u6e05\u6670\u5ea6\u3002\u201c\u4e13\u6ce8\u201d\u662f\u5fc3\u7406-\u611f\u53d7\u610f\u4e49\u4e0a\u7684\uff0c\u90a3\u4f1a\u52a0\u901f\u53bb\u5230\u4e00\u79cd\u72b6\u6001\u3001\u66f4\u9ad8\u7684\u72b6\u6001\uff0c\u5373\u4e13\u6ce8\u548c\u51a5\u60f3\uff1b\u4e13\u6ce8\u63d0\u5347\u4e86\uff0c\u7136\u540e\u4ea7\u751f\u51a5\u60f3\uff0c\u4f60\u4f1a\u5728\u611f\u77e5\u5bf9\u8c61\u4e2d\u878d\u5165\u51a5\u60f3\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\uff0c\u6b63\u56e0\u6211\u4eec\u8bef\u5c06dharana\u3001dhyana\u3001samadhi \u5206\u522b\u8bd1\u4e3a\u4e86\u4e13\u6ce8\u3001\u51a5\u60f3\u3001\u4e09\u6469\u5730\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u4e5f\u5c31\u8bef\u5165\u4e86\u8eab\u4e3a\u94fe\u63a5\u9636\u6bb5\u7684\u51a5\u60f3\u3002<br><br>Dharana is not concentration. Dhyana is not in that sense meditation. Samadhi in that sense is not trance. So they happen in psycho-mental realm progressively and we have brought meditation as alink which is faulty, which is a blunder. Where does meditation come?
